Join Mr. Carroll for FLOORBALL CLUB!

What is Floorball? Invented in Sweden as an off- season conditioning program for ice hockey players, it is a high movement floor hockey type game that uses a ball instead of a puck. Students will be placed on teams and play a 5 -week round robin tournament. No experience necessary, but interested students should enjoy team sports and like to move!

Floorball is open to all Hollymead students in grades 3-5.  Classes will meet on Tuesdays from January 30th –February 27th in the Hollymead gym from 2:35-4:00pm.

Cost is $60 for 5 weekly sessions. Registration is limited to 24 students. PTO Volunteer Spotlight

Meet the Dettmer Family!

Welcome to Hollymead, Dettmer family!  Jenn Dettmer and her family moved to Charlottesville this past August from Alaska.  From the moment they visited Hollymead for orientation, they could feel the sense of community.  They had an amazing adventure living in Alaska and even took seven weeks to travel, in their camper, across the whole continent.  Jenn enjoys working part-time as an Air Force Reserves Intelligence Officer and being able to be home with her children, Riley (kindergarten) and Finnley.  Jenn graciously jumped into volunteering and helping the PTO by running our Bingo Night/Bake Sale, Movie Night/Entrepreneur Fair and volunteering during Book Fair.  She also volunteers weekly in Riley’s classroom.  Thank you, Jenn, for being so giving of your time and talents!
