Hollymead Staff Appreciation
Hollymead Staff Appreciation Week is May 7th-11th. We would love to be able to provide a gift card to each of the members of our staff—teachers, administration, cafeteria, bus drivers, custodial and all of those who take care of our children and school each day. We would like to be able to provide a variety of gift cards. If you can, stop by one of your favorite restaurants, shops, gas station, dessert shop, or store and pick up one or a few–$5 and $10 gift cards would be greatly appreciated. Please use the Sign-Up Genius below to volunteer to purchase a gift card. Gift cards should be dropped off to the school office. Please deliver all gift cards by April 30th. Hollymead Talent Show, Preview of Acts & Rehearsal Information
The Talent Show is just a few weeks away! Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 28th to share your special skill! Whether you sing, dance, juggle, tell jokes, play an instrument, recite poetry, or have any other fun skill, we’d love to have you!

Reading Without Walls Challenge!
Students and families are invited to take Hollymead’s Spring Reading Challenge by choosing books they wouldn’t normally choose to read.
This three-part challenge includes reading the following:
(1) a book with characters who don’t look or live like you,
(2) a book about an unfamiliar topic, and/or
(3) a book in a format that you don’t normally read for fun (chapter book, graphic novel, book in verse or audio book)
Interested students can pick up Reading Without Walls Activity Guides in Room 6, leave recommendations for fellow students on the temporary Reading Without Walls mural outside Room 6, and return their completed guide (with their Reading List) to Room 6 during the final week of April.
Parents, share your efforts to “read without walls” with the hashtag #readingwithoutwalls to be a part of a national effort this month to add diversity to our reading.

Camp4Real Kids Night Out at Hollymead
The PTO and Camp4Real invite you to join us on Friday, May 4th from 6:15-8:30pm at Hollymead for a night of awesome physical activities and a healthy snack too! Any current Hollymead student in grades K-5 can attend the KNO. Register by completing the C4R Flier and returning it with your $25 payment (by 5/2) to your classroom teacher as soon as possible. All PTO proceeds will go towards Camp4Real scholarships.
French Art After-School Class
Bring out the Renoir in your child! Please join the Alliance Française and the Hollymead PTO for four Monday afternoons, April 30th – May 21st as we combine French and Art in a fun and exciting club! We will introduce your child to four different French artists, learn the French that goes along with the highlighted painting, and then make something that reflects that artist! A fun hour of French and Art all in one! Register using the flier in the link below and make checks payable to Hollymead PTO with your child’s name on the memo line. The cost is only $60 for the 4 weeks, which includes all supplies. There is space for 12 little artists in each class (Grades 1-2 and Grades 3-5). Registration deadline is Wednesday, April 25th.
