PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
The PTO would like to give an extra shout out to a few committee chairs who organized some of the key activities so far this school year. For the second year, Stephanie DeNicola has run our Attractions Book Fundraiser. Her efforts helped raise a significant portion of our PTO funds for the year. Also for the second time, Shannon DeSalvo created the Hollymead Directory. Shannon designed, created the layout and revamped the advertising price structure. For the third year in a row, Shannon Hall and Terumi Hong organized a day of giving back to the community through Hollymead Hornet Helper day. This year students made blankets for people served by the International Rescue Committee, and decorated rocks for the The Kindness Rocks Project/Cville ROCKS. Our very successful and popular Young Entrepreneurs Night was coordinated by Kathy Hines and Bethany Teachman, their third year working on this event. A huge thank you to these volunteers who continue to help the Hollymead PTO and our school community year after year.
With the snow earlier this week and holidays almost here, our thoughts turn gratefully to those who have contributed to the success of Hollymead! Thank you for all you have done for our children and our staff this year. The PTO is made up of volunteers who work hard all year long and we thank you for being a part – big and small. Best wishes for the holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in 2019!
