PRESIDENTS’ MESSAGE
Hello Hollymead! There has been a lot going on for the PTO this year and we couldn’t be more grateful for the many volunteers who are making it all happen.
The Hollymead Directory was distributed to each family just before the holiday break. We hope it has helped you connect with other families during this odd school year. Please be sure to thank the many local businesses for advertising and helping to finance the directory and support Hollymead. Many thanks go to Jonelle Kinback and Kate DeLuca for their skills and time to produce the directory!
Our staff and teachers are working extra hard this virtual year, and the PTO’s Hospitality Team went above and beyond in organizing a Soup Lunch for them that looked quite different from a typical year. Thanks to Shannon Hall and Allison Agarwal for organizing the Revolutionary Soup delivery, and to the many families who donated cash to offset the costs and individually wrapped goodies.
We hope you enjoy the offerings of our Hollymead Talent Show. Many thanks to Marion Hight for organizing and producing the video. It is so fun to see students share their interests and skills no matter the stage!
Go Hornets!

SNACK DRIVE FOR VACCINATORS 1/26-2/5
Local medical personnel are working overtime to help our community stay safe and get available COVID-19 vaccines. To show our appreciation, the Hollymead PTO will be holding a snack drive. Starting Tuesday, 1/26 – Friday 2/05, we invite you to bring individually wrapped packs of snacks (granola/protein bars, goldfish, dried fruit, applesauce, etc) to Hollymead and deposit them in the labeled bin located outside the building. After 2/5, we will take the snacks out to those working hard to serve our community and teachers. Thank you!
LOOKING FOR YEARBOOK PHOTO SUBMISSIONS
Hello Hollymead families! We have started working on the 2020/2021 Hollymead yearbook and as you can imagine, it’s a challenging task so we are asking for your help! We would love if you shared any photos you have of your Hollymead students at home.
What types of photos are we looking for?
We are hoping to get lots of candid photos (ie: your children participating in virtual learning with their homeroom teacher, virtual specials, spirit days, virtual field trips, ways they are spending their time at home such as hikes, crafts, biking, reading, etc.) as well as a close-up portrait/head shot type photo. Hollymead mom and photographer Jayna Prochazka will be offering socially distanced portrait sessions from her backyard again in February as she did in the fall. You can submit your own portrait photo or work with Jayna.
How can you submit photos?
You can submit photos using the secure/private links found on the PTO website. When submitting a photo, please include your child’s name and grade. If you share photos, you give permission for them to be used in this year’s yearbook (they will not be used anywhere else).
When do we need photos by?
Please submit your photos by March 19.
What is the 5th grade baby photo section?
The yearbook will include a 5th grade dedication section with baby photos and a short blurb from your family for your graduating 5th grader. If you would like to participate in this special section, you can submit a baby photo (please include your child’s name!) and we will be in touch soon to request your short blurb for that section.
If you have any questions, you can contact Jill Dowling and/or Megan Haas. Thank you!!
