Happy π day! It’s lovely to see flowers peeking out and our Hollymead community showing up so strongly. We have a lot of activities happening this Spring, and we are thoroughly grateful for your time and attention. Bookfair is coming, the yearbooks are ready to order, we’re gathering for regular zoom chats, and we have a *magical* event planned for you (see below for details). And because of your generous contributions, Hollymead was able to donate several bags and boxes of healthy snacks to lift the spirits of the hard working volunteers at the Blue Ridge Health District COVID-19 vaccine clinics.

Thank you for continuing to show up, Hollymead!

Hollymead PTO is sponsoring a sneaker drive! Bring your outgrown athletic shoes—all sizes, all conditions, all brands—to be donated in the labeled bin at Hollymead’s front door running from February 15th-March 15th. We will receive between $.25 – $7.00 per pair of sneakers based on the condition. All sneakers from our sneaker drive fundraiser program are recirculated to people who want quality, reusable footwear at affordable prices or repurposed into new surfaces such as playgrounds and tracks.

** Athletic shoes (sneakers, rubber cleats) only. Please no non-athletic shoes such as boots and flip flops.**

Wes Iseli is one of today’s top magicians! He has worked as a magic consultant & animal trainer on TV’s The Carbonaro Effect and now has his own TV show on Jul-Tv called Wes Iseli’s Magiclife which follows Wes & his family on the road performing 400 shows per year. Wes recently fooled Penn & Teller on stage in Las Vegas on their show Fool Us with a magic trick he created. Wes loves performing and you will see that in his energetic Magic & Illusion Show.

This show will include large Vegas style illusions, animal magic (doves and rabbits), audience participation and he will even teach you a trick or two you can do at home.

This show is a fundraiser for Baker-Butler & Hollymead Elementary schools so help show your school spirit and support this event by buying a ticket and letting others know about this event.

The event will be Friday, March 26, from 7 to 9 pm

The Hollymead PTO will be hosting bi-weekly zoom sessions for caregivers of Hollymead students looking to connect with others in our Hollymead community. Our hope is that it will be a place for people to share ideas, ask questions, and feel supported as we continue to navigate the obstacles COVID has created with regards to education and our children. Please come with ideas to share, questions to ask, or just to listen in on what others are sharing.
