Interested in being on the Hollymead PTO Board, but don’t know what to choose? Here are descriptions of the various opportunities we have:

PTO Executive Officers

  • Co-President:  Serves as Executive Officer of PTO; oversees all PTO programs; chairs all General, Executive and Special meetings; serves as spokesperson for PTO and liaison to the Principal and School
  • Co-Vice President:

    Serves on the executive board of the PTO; acts as an aide to the President; substitutes for president whenever necessary; works closely with council to ensure volunteer programs run smoothly. This is a two year position. The individuals serve as co-Vice Presidents the first year, then assume the role of Co-Presidents the second year.

  • Secretary: Serves on the executive board of the PTO; maintains minutes for council meetings; works closely with officers to maintain correspondence to and from the board. This is ideally a two year position.

  • Treasurer: Serves on the executive council of the PTO; maintains all monetary aspects of PTO. This is a two year position. Ideally, co-chairs will rotate on and off in alternate years to facilitate a smooth knowledge transfer.

PTO Committee Chairs

  • Communications Co-Chairs: Serves on the PTO board and facilitates the distribution of information related to PTO activities, events and fundraisers to the Hollymead school community. This is a two year position. Ideally, co-chairs will rotate on and off in alternate years to facilitate a smooth knowledge transfer.
  • Volunteer Coordinator Co-Chair: Serves on the PTO board and works with the Vice President and President to staff and coordinate volunteers for various school events and maintains an organized log and records of all volunteers and shall. Ideally, co-chairs will rotate on and off in alternate years to facilitate a smooth knowledge transfer.
  • Donation and Sponsorship Coordinator: Serves on the PTO board; Coordinates outside organizations and businesses to develop partnerships, solicit donations and apply for grant opportunities in support of the Hollymead community; manages grocery store and online partnerships such as Kroger, Shutterfly and Amazon; coordinates with event chairs such as Box Tops, Directory and other events.  
  • Hospitality Co-Chiar: Serves on the PTO board, coordinates and solicits all food acquisition and preparation required for school events, such as teacher luncheons, parent/teacher conference snacks/ dinners, holiday and teacher appreciation luncheons and treats, etc.  Ideally, co-chairs will rotate on and off in alternate years to facilitate a smooth knowledge transfer.
